Styled Shoot | Raleigh NC Wedding Planner

For this styled shoot, I worked with a team of North Carolina’s top-notch wedding professionals to bring my vision to life, and Renee Sprink Photography captured every amazing detail.

I have been obsessed with the iconic Coco Chanel and her glamorous style since Iw as old enough to read fashion magazines and wear perfume. My love of the restructured silhouette, tailored style, and CHANEL’s signature look sparked the inspiration for this chic CHANEL in the City photo shoot, a stylish collaboration with Embellished Blooms, Pretty in the Details and Opus 1 Weddings. I really wanted to take the signature color palette of Chanel and give it a modern twist. On the other hand, I still wanted to preserve CHANEL’s luxurious elegance.

I designed CHANEL in the City based on a soft color palette made up pink, gold, and white with a juxtaposition of bold hues of pink and black. This shoot was all about gorgeous flowers, luxe décor, and a love for all things fabulous. I wanted to merge the structured French style of the 1920s with the romanticism of a modern bride.

I hope that this CHANEL in the City shoot shows brides that you can take couture inspiration and easily apply it to your big day. Plus, I wants brides to see that you don’t have to be cliché when using style to drive your design because style shouldn’t drive you, you drive the style. Wedding inspiration comes from some of the smallest details and I hope this CHANEL shoot inspires fashionista brides to be daring and not cliche when it comes to their wedding day.

Bride’s Fashion & Jewelry: When doing any type of tribute to CHANEL, the fashion is one of the most important pieces in creating the look. The bride wore a lovely Alyne “Patricia” gown that is made of a Satin Organza with a lace and ruffled mermaid skirt provided by Traditions by Anna. The dress maintained the CHANEL essence of the feminine silhouette. The overall style of the dress was reinvented by adding the bold contrast through a black satin sash with sparkle embellishments. Charlotte’s provided the jewelry for the bride. The bold black embellishments and the statement necklace was intended to accompany the luxurious fabrics while adhering to CHANEL’s affinity for dramatic costume jewelry.

Groom’s Fashion: For the dapper groom, we wanted him to have a feel that was reminiscent of the 1920s gentleman. While we love the traditional look of a tuxedo jacket, the black suspenders and black bow tie made us feel like we were back in Paris. Bernard’s Formalwear provided the black Ike Behar Black Notch Lapel tuxedo. With cuff links and argyle socks, this retro groom’s look was complete.

Flowers: For the floral selection we went with timeless classics with a hint of modern style. Roses, lilies, hydrangea, ranunculus and some fabulous black and white anemones! In keeping with the luxury and extravagance of CHANEL, Embellished Blooms styled an arrangement that poured over the sides of our gilded candelabra and flowed down to a puddle of flowers on the table.

The Cake and Favors: Pretty in the Details knew exactly how translate CHANEL into this gorgeous, three-tiered wedding cake through the use of the signature CHANEL black and white stripped pattern. The pink and golf foil accents give the cake a modern flair with the softness reflected in the anemone and roses. The cupcake favors feature black bows and gold foil and provide a stark contrast to the black and white stripped custom table runner provided by CE Rentals.

Wedding Ceremony Backdrop: Pretty in the Details took a quote that Monica adapted from one of Chanel’s famous one-liners and created a bold wedding backdrop combined with modern calligraphy and the bold Chanel font. The backdrop sets the scene for a stylishly simple wedding ceremony between the love birds.

Hair and Makeup: For this concept, CHANEL makeup was only appropriate. This is a modern and fresh approach to CHANEL’s timeless aesthetic. Inspired by CHANEL’s often used muse, the camellia flower, we kept the face natural and dewy with a sultry eye palette and bright rosy pink lips. The whole look came together when paired with a textured up-do reminiscent of CHANEL’s classic quilted purses and tweed jackets. The ensemble looks elegant and refined…just like everything CHANEL!

Stationary: The stationary suite designed by Opus 1 Weddings was intended to merge the boldly feminine CHANEL color palette with the delicate camellia flower. The miniature CHANEL bottles make the perfect couture place cards for the Bride and Groom.

Design Elements: Gorgeous touches like various CHANEL perfume, his and her signature drinks, Parisian postcards, a CHANEL guestbook, cigars, champagne and sparkle add a contemporary take on vintage accoutrements.
